Purpose and Application
The felt drill wheel is used for:

Design
A felt drill disc consists of:
Working part — dense felt of varying hardness;
Axle/rod (shank) — typically 6 mm in diameter, designed for a drill chuck;
Mounting type — a chuck-mounted rod (without threads), allowing the disc to be used with any household or professional drill.
Hardness Classes
There are two main types of felt based on density:
Soft Class (M)
Characteristics: Elastic, pliable, does not overheat the surface
Use: Final polishing, varnishes, plastics, non-ferrous metals.
Hard (H)
Characteristics: Dense, hard felt
Use: Pre-polishing, removing scratches and dullness.
